Thanksgiving Dinner on a Budget

Throw Out All Expectations

In order for this to work, there is something you need to do before we get started. If you are dedicated to sticking to a budget, you WILL be able to serve some seriously yummy food. BUT you have to throw out all expectations and start fresh. Don’t expect to have 15 different dishes.

All I’m saying is, don’t complain that you don’t have enough money and you keep going deeper in debt during the holidays, but refuse to rework something like your Thanksgiving dinner. Keep it simple and delicious.

Don’t Forget to Take a Break!

Another thing you need to remember is to take a break! Have you ever been to a dinner party and the hostess was obviously completely stressed out? That will quickly make your guests feel a bit awkward.

Don’t let that be you! Make sure to take a minute to breathe. Get yourself a secret stash of treats that no one else knows about. Just a little somethin’ somethin’ you can sneak away with for five minutes to take a breather. You could even get yourself a treat without adding any extra cash to your budget! Want to know how?

Make sure that when you’re out doing your regular and holiday shopping to quickly snap a picture of your receipts using Fetch Rewards. You will instantly get cash back!

Once you earn points, you can turn them in for rewards. This is where your little mid-holiday secret treat comes into play!

Fetch has so many options for rewards!

This time I’m cashing in on a Target gift card and am using it to get mama a secret stash of chocolate for those times when I need to take a breather in between mashing potatoes and basting the turkey.

3 Tips for a Thanksgiving Dinner Meal Plan on a Budget

First let me give you three tips for creating a beautiful drool worthy Thanksgiving meal plan on a budget and then we will talk about the savings challenge!

1. Go Non-traditional for Lower Budgets

Who says you HAVE to have a turkey and a designer charcuterie board? No one, that’s who! So if you need to really cut costs serve something non-traditional like a taco or pasta bar. Super cheap to serve a crowd.

2. Potluck Thanksgiving

You could do a potluck style Thanksgiving dinner, which is actually what our family usually does. Set up a digital signup sheet where people can put their names in for what they want to bring. That way you can focus your budget on the main part of your meal.

3. Plan and Stick to the List

This is the biggest not so secret that no one follows. You need to meal plan, make a grocery list, and stick to the list. Promise that you won’t go to the store and try to piece it together as you walk down the isles! That’s a sure fire way to spend way more money then you need!

Savings Challenge!

Here’s the challenge, let’s see who can save the most using Fetch Rewards? Tag me on Instagram when you share in your stories or in your IG post how much cash back you earned on your Thanksgiving groceries using Fetch.

That’s it! Make sure your following along on my Instagram stories as I share the results and who is in the lead!

Don’t forget that when you sign up for the free Fetch app and use my code: PEARLS you will automatically get 4,000 points right away! (72 hours only! Through ) That’s gonna help you get in the lead!
