Who says you need a super fancy vacation to feel like you are on a tropical island? Maybe if you whip up this smoothie then go sit out on your porch, close your eyes, you just might start to get the feeling like you are on a tropical getaway. Okay, let’s be real. Probably not. Sorry. But I can promise you it’s going to taste exotic and will keep you nice and cool!
Smoothies are the perfect option for a fresh, quick, and healthy breakfast… or lunch or dinner (in my case). Sometimes we end up having smoothies for two meals in one day!
I might whip one up in the morning to go along with breakfast and then later that day make an extra thick smoothie, poor it in a bowl, add some granola and fresh fruit for topping, and wa-la we have smoothie bowls!
This tropical smoothie recipe is so fun because it actually has two different smoothies in one! The layered colors look beautiful and your family won’t be able to resist.
You don’t need to tell them that it is actually good for them!
Making your own smoothie at home is a ton cheaper then going to a store like Jamba Juice! Also, they are crazy easy to make! Just throw all the ingredients into a blender and your done! If you freeze your own fruit rather than buying the store bought fruit you really are going to be lowering the cost ever further!
So kick your feet up and enjoy your tropical smoothie and really start to live it up all while staying healthy!

June 30, 2015 at 3:07 amI may have to try this withOUT the Mangoes! I think I am the only Texan who despises Mangoes, hahaha! I think Pineapple Orange would still be pretty awesome though! In fact, I think I have the stuff to make one now…hmmm <3

July 2, 2015 at 2:20 pmI don’t have mangos on hand very often since they are a little more pricey but when I do they are the best in smoothies!

June 30, 2015 at 6:23 pmThese look so delicious, and we always keep frozen fruit on hand. Do you think it would be a big deal if we substituted the greek yogurt for plain yogurt?
Brittany Cooper
July 2, 2015 at 2:19 pmThat would be delicious if you used plain yogurt! I have used Light and Fit vanilla yogurt before and it’s just a bit more sweet but still so refreshing!
