I knew I was going to need to know how to make a bow tie as soon as I found out I was pregnant with my son. What I didn’t know was how much I was going to fall in love with the cute little things (the bot ties and my baby boy) and want to put them on everything!
They are so simple to make and they don’t have to be just for boys! Add the bow tie onto a cute little hair clip and it’s all ready to dress up any outfit for your little girl or even yourself!
Don’t you love the look of lanterns? You can find them in almost any home décor store you walk into. The only problem I have with them is their price! I love the way they look dimly lit at night. You can use them inside or outside. They are perfect for any party. I just have a really hard time spending $10-$20 for one lantern!
Do you have a hard time finding the perfect pair of shorts? I hope I am not the only one. Either I finally find a size that fits just right and the style has a lot lacking or I find a pair that is beyond cute and they do not fit me right. I can’t be the only one with this problem!
Adding lace to any piece of denim is super fabulous! Don’t you love how the dainty design of lace compliments the rustic feel of denim? If you walk into any clothing store right now, you are sure to see this style floating around.

Don’t you hate it when you see a beautiful piece of furniture at a store, online, or in a catalog and the price tag is just plain ridiculous? Have you ever stopped yourself from buying something because you just knew that your kids would destroy it in a matter of minutes? That is the first thing I think about when buying anything for our house. “How durable is this?” “How fast is this going to look dirty?”
These pillow slipcovers are going to make your life so much easier! You can choose any fabric that matches your home décor. The best thing, since these are slipcovers they can be taken off and washed! No need to worry about little fingers destroying them.
With winter gone and spring in our laps it’s time to start freshening up our home’s décor. Don’t you agree? It is so nice to have all the warm and cozy colors decorating our house throughout the winter months but once spring gets here, it’s time to move on!
Just because you don’t have any extra money doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy “extra” things like having a garden!
If you aren’t careful something seemingly inexpensive can add up really quick. This is why I want to share with you guys how we built AND filled six raised garden beds for only $10!
About one year ago I set out on a mission to make garden beds for as close to zero dollars as possible! We have a nice sized front yard but it is not easy on the eyes. We have a chained link fence that wraps around the entire thing. The yard, well it’s more of a weed and gofer infested dirt lot. Ugh… kinda sad! (We rent or I would totally put some investment into the thing)
Anyways, my thought was, let’s make planter beds to grow a garden out there since the space is great and it gets plenty of sunlight in the summer. I knew I wanted to make about 6 large garden beds, approximately 3’x6’x12”. The next step was for me to go price out wood at the hardware store. That was a bit of a shock. Since we wanted them about 12” deep this was going to cost a lot of money in wood. Continue Reading →
