What do you think about having an insanely delicious meal tonight for dinner that doesn’t cost you more than a few bucks, and takes you less than 20 minutes in the kitchen?

Hot, creamy, hearty, and not too heavy. It’s the perfect combination to create a flawless bowl of soup.

One of my favorite things about a copycat recipe is that you can easily enjoy the taste of a restaurant meal but at a fraction of the cost.

A quick meal that also is a cheap meal but still tastes just like the restaurant but for a quarter of the price! This Zuppa Toscana recipe will surprise you how spot on it tastes just like the real thing at Olive Garden. Continue Reading →

Crispy Homemade Chicken Nuggets

Perfectly crisp without being fried and deliciously marinated to perfection. This homemade chicken nuggets recipe is going to be leaving your family asking for seconds all while saving you time and money!

I first made these a few years ago when my little lady was about 2 years old. We both love the taste of chicken nuggets and I especially love the convenience of the finger food. But the nutritional value of the store bought frozen ones just wasn’t up to par with what we hoped for.

5 Delicious & Healthy Freezer Meals

Have you had the opportunity to experience just how awesome having a freezer full of ready to go dinners is? If you haven’t then you need to give it a try! Just promise me that within the next 30 days you will try it. If you are not totally sold on the idea, you can come back and let me know your true feelings. But I am confident that you will be converted to the freezer meal way of life!

Who needs them?
You do, that’s who! We all do. Maybe you have an insanely crazy busy day and dinner is just an afterthought. Or maybe you have a really relaxing day but the thought of cooking a meal is just too much work. Having some thoughtless options prepared will be a game changer for you! No more last minute trips through the drive through, saving you a lot of money and a lot of calories!

How it works.
I first tried our prepping of a bunch of freezer meals when I decided to start this blog actually. I knew I was going to be spending every extra second I had on the computer and getting dinner ready was going to be a last minute thought. Never a good thing in our house! It only took be 3 hours (one nap time) to get everything prepped and I hade 16 meals ready to go in my freezer.

All you have to do is choose which recipes you think your family would love to eat, make sure you have all of the ingredients needed to prepare the dish, then find a 3 hour slot of your day where you can devote your focus to dicing, chopping, and combing. Make sure to have plenty of foil casserole dishes and freezer safe bags on hand!

Grilled Steak Salad with Cilantro Lime Dressing

A salad everyone in your family is sure to love!

Am I the only one that is always so shocked at how much a salad costs when you are eating out? It’s mostly lettuce anyways! So why not make them at home to save the money? Plus, I bet it will taste 5 times better then anything you will find at a drive-thru!

If you are someone who loves salads then you will definitely love this one! If you are someone who isn’t such a big fan of salads then you will still love this one! My husbands biggest complaint about salads is that he is hungry ten minutes later. Maybe an exaggeration, but I understand his frustration. This is the perfect salad to serve the entire family.

Fish Tacos with Apple Coleslaw and Chipotle Yogurt Sauce

Today you are all in for a special treat! Not only am I sharing this deliciously light fish taco recipe but I sharing with you a $800 cash giveaway! Keep reading for more details!

Before I married my husband, who is a San Diego native, I had never even heard of something called a “fish taco”. He introduced me to one up in Salt Lake on a visit once while we were dating. It was battered and deep-fried. Not what I was expecting and I wasn’t that big of a fan.

But one summer I came to San Diego to visit him (while we were dating) and he took me to a fish taco shop called Wahoos Fish Tacos. Maybe you have heard of them? Well, their tacos are SO good! They grill their fish, use a corn tortilla, and serve it with a lite bed of cabbage on top. Add a side of cilantro rice and black beans and I am one happy girl!

Fast and Tasty Thai Pizza Recipe

Fast and Tasty Thai Pizza

It’s Friday! In our house the weekend occasionally (or maybe more often…) calls for pizza! We love to make our own pizzas. It’s a fun thing to do and you can make it exactly the way you like it! Not to mention it’s about a hundred (close) times cheaper!

It’s a fun thing for the kids too! If I have the time and patience I like to set up a pizza bar, gather the family together, and we all make our own mini pies. It’s fun for the kids but it is a nice way to make sure everyone is happy with what’s on their plate. My hubby and I tend to go with a more “grown up” taste when compared to the normal cheese or cheese and pepperoni that the kids like. Everyone wins! Continue Reading →
