Mom’s Early Morning Routine

Good morning! So today, we are going to be going over my mom’s early morning routine! I’m going to show you what my planned in my brain routine is but, I’m also going to show you exactly what actually happens.

I’m going to share with you what I’m working on, what goals I’m working towards, as far as my morning routine goes, I’m going to show you the real life version of this. I feel like most mom morning routines are going to show you like the ideal picture perfect morning routine……. um this isn’t that one!

4:30 A.M. Wake Up Call

Alright, so my alarm goes off at 4:30 and the ideal situation would be I get up, I wake up ,give myself about five minutes to look at my phone, get my bearings, then I get moving. But the reality is, this that I probably stay in my bed for 15 to 20 minutes! I like a slow morning wake up you know and then the time I get out of my bed it’s like anywhere between 4:50 and 5:20.

So once I wake up, I head in to my bathroom and I get completely dressed. I make sure my my water bottle is filled up and I get my workout clothes on and then I move into my scripture study.

Scripture Study

So I found this app called Small Seed and I am in love with it! It’s a Christian meditation app and they have all these different meditations that you can use. It gets you thinking on a more spiritual level. There’s all different topics and they have really short ones for the days that I sleep in really long, and then they have longer ones for when I actually get up on time!

Small Seed has these journals! I just choose a topic that I feel inspired to study for myself, for my family, or for my life. Right now I’m currently looking up teaching because we want to make our home a more Christ-centered teaching environment. Then sometimes, I will listen or read a talk that goes along with this topic.

At Home Workout

Now the time is usually anywhere between 5 A.M. and 5:30, I’m going to start heading out to the living room to do my morning workout. For my workout I’ve been using the app Madeline Moves for over a year! Her focus is toning muscle using what you have at home. All of her workouts can be done at home or at the gym.

I started using it shortly after the pandemic started but, because of where we live and because of hubby’s work schedule, there’s really no good time in the morning before kids wake up. I’ve slowly just built up my weight supply and as I’m like physically able to lift heavier weights, I’ve slowly borrowed things from my parents and then we’ve just bought weights!

So for my workout, if I’m really rushed for time, I will do a 30 minute version. In this app, there’s a 30 minute version for every exercise. But, I see the best results when I’m very intentional with making sure I get that full workout in.

Getting Ready for the Day

Ideal situation would be get done at 6:00 A.M. and then have from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. to completely get ready. So take a shower, if I need to shave my legs (because that takes longer) I have time to shave my legs, and then get out of the shower. Then do the lotion, do the teeth, and the makeup. That would be ideal but usually what happens is, I only find myself with enough time to shower, maybe shave my legs, lotion, do my teeth and then get dressed.

By the time that I’m just about finishing that up, then my kids are awake. They wake up usually around 6:30 but, we have this rule that they’re not allowed out of their rooms until 7 a.m. So, at 7:00 a.m. I usually have little munchkins waiting for me on my bed or at the door.

Watch my Mom’s Early Morning Routine!

Those are the things I try to get done and the goals I’m working on. Do you like to wake up early before the kids? Do you wait and wake up at the same time? Things work differently for different families!

Talk to you soon!
