Everyone has that one favorite meal or dish that your parents have made since the beginning of time. You know the one when anytime you take a bite you instantly feel like you are at home again.
For me mashed potatoes are one of those meals. My parents make a mean team when it comes to making mashed potatoes. So naturally when I started living on my own this was one of the dishes I was determined to master!
Over time I have tried adding and taking away different ingredients. So far these parmesan mashed potatoes are my family’s favorite!
This parmesan mashed potatoes recipe is so good that you don’t even need gravy. But no one is stopping you if you happen to have some! My dad makes the best gravy from scratch, by the way!
Not only are these parmesan mashed potatoes super delish but they are way easy to make. Let me show you so you can make them for your family!
And please! Don’t buy the pre-made kind! You are going to pay like $10 at Costco for those when you could just make this easy and heavenly recipe with it only costing you about $1.

How to Make Parmesan Mashed Potatoes
Ingredients
6 medium russet potatoes, peeled and chopped
½ cup milk
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
¼ cup butter
½ tsp salt
Instructions
Add your chopped potatoes into a boiling pot of water and let them boil until they break apart with a fork. Don’t boil for to long or they will get mushy and become super starchy.
Strain potatoes and put back into the empty pot along with all other ingredients. Using a hand mixer (or you can do this with your standing mixer and bowl) beat the potatoes until nice and creamy. Or you can beat it for a little less time to leave it a little more lumpy.
Serve hot with a nice slice of butter. Mmm. Tastes like home doesn’t it!
