It doesn’t happen all the time but when it does… euphoria takes over! For us frugalistas, it’s when the stars align just right as you walk through the doors of your favorite thrift store and everything you touch seems to be hand picked just for you!
Do you know what I’m talking about? With thrift stores it can be completely hit or miss. For example, just yesterday I wandered into our local Goodwill Store and there was nothing. Not a single thing I was interested in. Oh well, better luck next time. Right?
But! On this particular beautiful Monday morning, things worked out just right!
With my sister by my side, we ventured north a little ways to try out a new (to us) thrift store in a little nicer part of San Diego. To see what they had to offer in the way of thrifting. BINGO!
The furniture was a little lacking but the clothes were where it was at! They had more name brand items and in much better condition then what I am used to seeing in a thrift store.
Do you want to see what I ended up buying with this months thrift store haul?
I actually had a few more items in my hands at the end of the shopping trip, but these gems I am about to show you, are the lucky ones that made the budget cut!
Let’s start with my very most favorite thing I found. Aren’t these shoes beyond cute? Plus, they are in brand new condition! The brand is one found at Payless Shoes which normally sells for $28 but I only paid $7!
Next up on the roster is this Hollister wide leather belt. I found similar ones online for $29, but I only paid… $5!
Okay and now let’s talk about this outfit! I am not sure what I am going to do with this shirt. Maybe it will have new life one day but for now it will sit in my scrap fabric pile.
But the skirt! This last Sunday I wore this high wasted skirt with a simple white shirt tucked in, pearl necklace, and paired with that belt we were just talking about. It was exactly the fresh look my spring wardrobe needed!
Follow me on Instagram to see more of my thrift store finds in action!
Found similar brand skirts (vintage) selling online for around $20 and I paid $8 for both the shirt and skirt.
I am super excited about the project I have planned for this shirt! I paid $3 for this busy shirt not exactly sure what I was going to do with it, but I new I loved the print!
There is a plan! You guys NEED to go check out Sarah from Our Life is Beautiful because she does A-MAZ-ING refashions with thrift store finds! Which is where I found inspiration and direction for what I plan to do with this shirt.
Make sure to stay tuned to see how I attempt turning this women’s shirt into a dress for my little lady.
And then a few random items I found at the thrift store that I found need of…
I paid $3 for the baseball mitt, $3 for the little girl hoodie, and $1.50 for the glass pie pan.
Not bad for a mornings trip to the thrift store! Don’t you think?
Is anyone as obsessed with thrift shopping as I am? What is your absolute favorite thing you have ever found at a thrift store? Let me know in the comments bellow!
I hope you are having a fantastic day and I will talk to you later!
