Frugal Generosity

Happy Friday everyone! I am really excited to share today an idea I saw floating around a few months ago about being charitable. In the past I always feel bad for people pan handling but I personally have never felt “right” about handing out money from my car. At the same time, I don’t really have a lot of extra cash to hand out either. That is why this idea is so perfect!

It only cost about $10 to buy all the items to put these together which works out to be about $0.33 for each donation. It’s nothing life changing but I think the gesture is loving and could help brighten someone’s day. So if you have been wanting to do more but not sure what you could do. Here is a small step to get you started.

Frugal Generosity

What you need:

1 pack of disposable water bottles

            1 pack of granola bars

            1 pack of rubber bands

*You obviously can do as many of these as you want. So if you want to make a bunch, you can buy the waters and granola bars from a warehouse store like Costco to get the best value.

What you do:

Take one water bottle, one granola bar, and wrap together with one rubber band. Super simple!

This is a great activity to do with your family and a great teaching opportunity. I actually gave out my first kit today. The lady actually seemed grateful for the gift and immediately started taking a huge drink of water. I hope it helped her have a great day! Be safe and of coarse have fun!
