10 DIY Mother’s Day Gifts

What is your favorite thing about your mom? My favorite thing about my own mom has to be her dedication to our family! My parents have always taught us to put family first. Their guidance has made our family stronger and has helped me to build a strong foundation for my growing branch of our family tree.

Moms are a pretty big deal! We have a whole day devoted to us every year as proof! I am a strong believer that you do not have to have born children to be considered a mother! We are blessed with mothers in many different ways throughout our life. I am amazed with all of the inspiring women I have met so far in my life that nurture others regardless of how that “child” has come into their life. Continue Reading →

Teriyaki Chicken Pineapple Bowl

I have been SO excited to share this recipe with you! I am always on the look out for yummy pineapple recipes since my family is in love with the fruit! Since I first made this over the top delicious meal, I knew that you would just love it!

What makes it so good? Other than the super fun way it is served, having the rice and chicken actually served in the pineapple adds an extra level of flavor. The rice soaks up the pineapple juice and becomes so tasty you will be scavenging for the very last grain!

DIY Pallet Wood Raised Garden Beds

Just because you don’t have any extra money doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy “extra” things like having a garden!

If you aren’t careful something seemingly inexpensive can add up really quick. This is why I want to share with you guys how we built AND filled six raised garden beds for only $10!
Pallet Garden Beds Pin

About one year ago I set out on a mission to make garden beds for as close to zero dollars as possible! We have a nice sized front yard but it is not easy on the eyes. We have a chained link fence that wraps around the entire thing. The yard, well it’s more of a weed and gofer infested dirt lot. Ugh… kinda sad! (We rent or I would totally put some investment into the thing)

Anyways, my thought was, let’s make planter beds to grow a garden out there since the space is great and it gets plenty of sunlight in the summer. I knew I wanted to make about 6 large garden beds, approximately 3’x6’x12”. The next step was for me to go price out wood at the hardware store. That was a bit of a shock. Since we wanted them about 12” deep this was going to cost a lot of money in wood. Continue Reading →

Fancy & Frugal Felt Flowers

One of my favorite things I love to use in my home for decorations are fresh flowers! They are just so beautiful no matter what type they are. The problem is they are a little pricey for something that only lasts about 7 days.

I came up with the solution! Why not make my own fancy flowers and why not make them felt flowers! There are so many color options these days and the fabric itself is super cheap! There are so many different possibilities when it comes to the flower style or type. To make this entire bouquet only cost me about $2! Your not going to find that deal at your local floral shop, guaranteed!

$3 Thrifty Craft – Chic Painted Wood Bowls and Tray

I have shared my excitement about our local Salvation Army before and this tutorial will be no exception! Every Monday their entire store is 50% off and anything that has a price tag dated older than 14 days is 75% off! Take those discounts off an already low price and you have yourself a great deal! Does your local Salvation Army have the same deals?

Case in point, these beautiful wood bowls and tray. For the entire set I only paid $3! Perfect thing for a thrifty craft! For my kitchen, I am trying to collect more natural elements to add to my lacking décor. Natural woods and earthy colors make a kitchen feel so fresh and welcoming. (In my nonprofessional opinion)
