Did you know that asparagus is typically in season between the months of February and June? What should this mean to you? Well you need to know this because it means that it is going to be cheapest to buy during this time of year!
Just in time to get your grill up and running! There is no other way I like to cook this yummy vegetable than with this delicious grilled asparagus recipe! It is beyond easy and requires little thought and planning. Perfect right?
What You Need
The only tool I recommend using when grilling asparagus is a veggie basket, one that is specifically made for the BBQ. It is not necessary but will make your life a lot easier! You can find them at almost any retail store but you can always find them online all year long.
You will also need:
• ¼ olive oil (vegetable oil works also)
• ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
• 1 tsp. garlic powder
• 1 tsp. ground black pepper
Let me show you how easy it is to whip up this grilled asparagus recipe that your family is going to love!
The Very Best Way to Make Grilled Asparagus
Take one bunch of asparagus and make sure to rinse it off. Dab dry with a towel to try and get as much water off as possible.
Now snap off the bottom ends of each piece of asparagus. This part doesn’t taste good so no need for it.
In a zip lock bag, or a big bowl, combine your asparagus, oil, cheese, garlic powder and pepper. Shake or stir until the veggies are completely coated in all the seasonings.
Make sure your grill is nice and hot. Let your veggie grill basket sit out on the grill for a couple minutes to get nice and hot. Spray bowl with nonstick cooking spray. Pour in the asparagus.
If you don’t have the basket, carefully place asparagus on grill perpendicular to the grill grates. Be careful to not let those things fall through the slats.
Over medium heat, let veggies cook for about 3 minutes. Stir and let cook an additional 3 minutes.
Remove from the grill and enjoy! You want to be careful not to over cook the veggies because they can become wilted or burnt.
Enjoy!

May 1, 2015 at 9:25 amAsparagus is my favorite! I like to use a combination of oil and butter. I usually pop mine in the oven or steam them for an easy weeknight side dish, but I’ll definitely have to grill them in my cast iron next time we fire up the grill. That Parmesan looks delicious!
