September Meal Plan & Grocery Haul

This grocery shopping on a budget post is sponsored by Fetch Rewards. Thank you for supporting Pennies Into Pearls by using my links at no additional cost to you.

It’s always a bit of a time commitment to do a whole month of grocery shopping on at budget at once, but I am SO glad I do it. This month was actually a little bit easier now that my two older kids are back in school.

It’s still a little tiring however.

So if it is so exhausting you might be wondering to yourself, “Then why do it?”

This VIDEO will show you what it looks like to go grocery shopping on a budget. This mom takes you grocery shopping with her and shows you every item they buy and how much each item costs. You will see this real life family grocery budget. Sponsored by Fetch Rewards.

Because shopping only one morning a month instead of several times a month and maybe even each week, is SO MUCH EASIER! Not only do I save myself hours each month, I also save so much money by buying in bulk and limiting the urge to impulse shop!

I’m sure you have a bunch of questions. What about fresh produce and meat? How do you have enough cash to cover it all? I put together another post that answers all those questions and you can get the details right here.

Before You Go Shopping…

Before you head to the grocery store to start your grocery shopping, whether you go weekly, monthly, or anything in between there are a few things you need to do in order to set yourself up for a successful trip.

  1. Make sure you have you cash envelopes ready.
  2. Pack snacks and/or lunch for the kids and for yourself.
  3. If you can leave the house somewhat clean, that’s a bonus!
  4. Don’t forget to empty the trunk so you have room for your grocery haul.
  5. Take a look through your favorite cash back app.

The Key to Grocery Shopping on a Budget!

You need to make sure that you are taking advantage of opportunities to save money! Duh, right?

That’s kinda obvious but what’s maybe not so obvious is that you don’t need to waste tons of time looking for the best way to save cash. Not when there’s an app that will do it for you! That app is called Fetch.

Fetch Rewards  is a FREE app that allows you to easily earn rewards for doing the grocery shopping that you are already planning on doing. So why not get rewarded? Right?

My favorite part about this app is that there is no planning required and it is super fast to use. It’s so easy and quick that as soon as we leave the store and are in the car, I open up Fetch and snap a quick pic of my receipt and immediately earn points! Then you use those points to redeem some pretty awesome rewards!

I don’t have to worry about taking up the extremely limited amount of time I have before my kids start melting down in the backseat.

Ready to see how easy this is?

It’s only three steps! Once you have downloaded the app and created an account, this is all you have to do after you go shopping:

  1. Scan your receipt.
  2. Earn points.
  3. Get rewards!

I told you it was easy! You get points EVERY TIME you scan a receipt.

What if you do grocery pick up?

You luck girl you! I could tear up right now just wishing my local stores had it. Even though I sit here dreaming that one day this could be my reality, I’m still happy for you. Cuz what I hear is that grocery pick-up is a big time blessing! But can you still get cash back?

You betcha! Fetch can help you save money on those orders as well! All you do is connect the app with the email account that you use for your online shopping.

Then once you receive your receipt in your email, within the Fetch app click the little “e” blue button and it searches for your rewards points which are then added to your account instantly! So easy and fast!

Earn Rewards!

Use your points to get yourself something! Yes you can be responsible and redeem your points for a gift card to somewhere useful for back to school or for next month’s groceries. BUT you could also get yourself a mom-back-to-school treat! You work hard mama!

Fetch has a huge selection of different stores, restaurants, and entertainment to choose from for their rewards!

I am getting close to be able to claim my next $10 gift card! Whoop whoop! I’m thinking about using it towards a restaurant gift card to surprise hubby on a little date night!

Download Fetch Rewards here and see how easy and fast you can start earning rewards! Use my referral code: P2PEARLS3 when you sign up!
